Sally Lua – 9 month old female Griffon Cross available for adoption

[ad_1]

This darling girl is Sally Lua, an 9 month old female griffon cross who was picked up wandering around a village in Northern Spain. When she was found, she was pregnant with 9 puppies.

Unfortunately, or rather luckily for Sally Lua, she lost the puppies, which in addition to avoiding suffering for her future babies, saved her life as she would not have endured giving birth on the streets. She would have been a puppy giving birth to almost 10 lives… it should be forbidden and punishable.

Unfortunately, there are still people against spaying, who believe it is acceptable for a puppy like Sally Lua to give birth until she dies, giving her puppies away to the first person who asks. If she had not been found, Sally Lua may not have survived.

But thankfully, this all belongs in the past. Sally is now in foster care in Spain and is looking for her second chance at happiness. We don’t have any information about her past, but after getting to know her we assume that it wasn’t the best start in life.

Sally Lua isn’t used to different noises and is fearful towards unknown people. Especially men, who she finds harder to trust. If she feels uncomfortable, she tries to run away or hide. When she first arrived in foster care, she wouldn’t let her foster dad touch her, but with time and patience she learnt to trust him and she now enjoys cuddles and attention happily.

She was immediately more comfortable with her foster mum, but even still it took her time to come out of her shell, and this is something her family will need to be patient and understanding about. With visitors, she finds it very difficult to trust them, and she needs lots of time to get to know them before they can touch her. Once she knows somebody, she is a very sweet girl.

With dogs she doesn’t have any of the fear she does around humans- it’s quite the opposite. She is used to living with them and being around them.

With her foster she has made great progress and feels comfortable with her, but she requires patience, commitment, and the understanding that in her short life the experiences she has had so far weren’t what they should have been, and this has left her more nervous and unsure that other dogs her age.

Sally Lua is a lovely girl. She is suitable with dogs, cats and dog savvy children. As soon as she gains trust, she also enjoys receiving cuddles and the company of her humans she knows. She is calm and well behaved at home. She has travelled short journeys in the car, and copes well, sitting on the back seat with her doggy seat belt.

With a current weight of 15kg, Sally Lua is a medium sized girl. She is very sweet natured, and there is a lot of potential in her. She has a lot of love to give, she just needs the time and patience to do the things at her own pace and be the happy puppy she is.

For Sally Lua we are looking for a home that is committed to patiently and calmly show her to settle and get used to her new environment, family, and surroundings.

She is still a puppy and has her whole life in front of her. She just needs to gain confidence, learn to trust, and understand that nobody is going to harm her.

Sally Lua will need to learn how to feel comfortable around unknown people and men and how to hear the noise of daily life and not feel afraid.

At the moment, when she sees new people on walks, she gets frightened and tries to stop, but with encouragement she can be moved forward.

This certainly requires patience and time, but the reward of seeing a dog come out of their shell and enjoy life is a unique experience.

An experienced home, in a more rural environment with a high and fully fenced garden and no young children is preferred.

If you would like to offer a home to Sally Lua, please get in touch.

We would love to hear from you.

Please be aware that we only rehome dogs to England or Wales, but NOT Scotland.
