While The Met Gala may be known as “Fashion’s Biggest Night,” Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala may just be the biggest night for couture-conscious canines! The upcoming two-hour variety special promises to be a celebration of song and style that features both famous faces and some four-legged fashionistas who will rock the runway in paw-sitively fetching attire.
Airing February 21 at 9 p.m. – 11 p.m. ET/PT on CBS, Dolly Parton’s Pet Gala will be co-hosted by the entertainment icon and actress Jane Lynch and will include pink carpet commentary by Kelly Osbourne and Rachel Smith from Entertainment Tonight.
The show will also stream on Paramount+ (live and on demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs).
Dolly Parton has long been known for her own signature style, and in 2022 the queen of country music began her reign over the world of canine clothing when she launched Doggy Parton, a line of equally bold looks for our buddies who bark. Compassion is a running thread through Doggy Parton (which also offers pet accessories, toys, collars and leashes), with a portion of the proceeds from the pet brand benefiting Willa B. Farms Animal Rescue.
Along with trend-setting tailwaggers who will “put on the dog,” the TV special will also include appearances by an array of animal-loving luminaries with their fur babies, including:
- Iain Armitage (Young Sheldon)
- Drew Barrymore
- Kristen Bell
- Kristin Chenoweth
- Margaret Cho
- Neil Patrick Harris
- Carson Kressley
- Jim Nantz (sports commentator)
- Jessica Simpson
- …and more!
Fans of canines and country music can also tune in to enjoy some toe-tapping (and tail-wagging!) tunes, including such Parton classics as “I Will Always Love You,” “9 to 5,” “Jolene” and her first ever single, “Puppy Love,” performed by Parton and Chris Janson, KC of KC and The Sunshine Band, Carly Pearce and Lainey Wilson.
“I have hosted or co-hosted many shows throughout my career, but I have never been more excited about co-hosting a show than I am about being part of this pet gala! I love animals. I’ve got all kinds, and of course, I’ve always had little dogs around, and big ones! We’re going to have some of all kinds and colors on the show, and there is nothing more fun to me than when little animals do what they do best, and I’m looking forward to it! There is so much fun stuff, and I know all the animal lovers out there are going to love this show,” said Dolly Parton.
