Bilbo is approximately 3 years old, a poodle cross boy of around 11kgs. He is currently in foster care in Scotland.
Bilbo was a stray who evaded rescue for 6 months but was finally caught and taken to a shelter. He was a terrified little dog who spent most of his time in his safe place but absolutely loved playing with other dogs.
We took the decision to fly Bilbo to the UK and put him in foster with a lady who has lots of experience with nervous dogs. Bilbo has grown in confidence whilst in foster care and can now go to his forever home.
He now happily runs around the garden and plays with the 2 resident dogs. He has travelled in the car and had lead walks. He needs to be kept on a long lead because if something frightened him, he would run off.
Bilbo can be left on his own as he just snuggles into his bed and sleeps.
In seeking his forever home Bilbo needs a very special experienced home someone who will let him adjust in his own time but someone who will not be afraid to take Bilbo out of his comfort zones step by step.
He’s going to be a work in progress, and we know he will regress but he’s proved what a beautiful little character he is once he’s settled and feels secure.
His ideal home would have previously experienced of nervous dogs and have the time patience and understanding of Bilbo’s needs. He needs a quiet home he would benefit from a calm resident dog, but he would also be ok as an only dog.
He can live with both men and women but no children. Bilbo has come on in leaps and bounds and has come out of his shell and is developing into a super confident little character. With the right person, he will be the friendliest loyal companion and friend.
